Housing, Lower Division and Engineering and Computing Senate Seats Available
The Student Government Council – Modesto A. Maidique Campus Senate has seats open for the following colleges:
*1 for Housing
*1 for Engineering and Computer Science
*1 for Lower Division
As a Senator, you would work with students, faculty, administration, and members of the local community to provide the best services possible to the student body.
The position is open to undergraduate and graduate students registered with the college who meet the following criteria:
FOR UNDERGRADUATE APPLICANTS
* Maintain no less than a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and a 2.0 term grade point average.
* Shall maintain a minimum of nine (9) undergraduate credit hours; in their semester of graduation these Senators are exempt from these requirements, but shall maintain a minimum of three (3) credit hours.
FOR GRADUATE APPLICANTS:
*Maintain no less than a 3.0 cumulative graduate grade point average and a 2.5 term grade point average.
*Maintain, during Fall and Spring semesters, a minimum of six (6) graduate credit hours; in their semester of graduation, these Senators are exempt these requirements,
but shall maintain a minimum of three (3) credit hours.
FOR ALL APPLICANTS
* Be able to attend the Senate meetings every Monday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
* Be registered, during Fall and Spring semesters, for no less than fifty (50) percent of his/her classes at the campus he/she represents.
* Be under no academic or disciplinary sanctions as detailed in the Student Code of Conduct.
Fill out the application and turn it in to GC 211 no later than February 18, 2011 at 5:00pm
The Senate will select and confirm the candidates for the positions on February 21, 2011 at 4:00pm in RBD 1000.
