To Ensure a Speedy Trial Hearing in the Judicial Process

SECTION I. Short Title

This bill may be cited as the “Judicial Accountability Act of 2010″

SECTION II. Purpose

The purpose of this bill is to ensure that the SGC-MMC Judicial Board is in compliance with Article VI the Sixth Amendment of the FIU SGA Constitution of the United States which guarantees the right to a speedy trial hearing.

SECTION III. Judicial Grievances Procedures

Article VI. Judicial Branch

Section 6.01 Judiciary

(a)        The SGC-MMC Chief Justice will serve as the Senate and SGC-MMC Parliamentarian.

i)          In absence of the SGC-MMC Chief Justice during a given SGC meeting, any Associate Justice may will serve as the Senate and SGC-MMC Parliamentarian.

(b)        All writs of certiorari must be validated or declined within seven ten (10) business days of being submitted to the Court Clerk.

(c)       All Writs of Certiorari must be heard within ten (10) business days of being granted validated, unless the writ is a complaint or grievance filed against an SGC-MMC Official. If the writ is a complaint or grievance filed against an SGC-MMC Official, the Judiciary must hear the writ within fifteen (15) business days of validating the Writ.

d)        The Judicial Board will operate as stated in the SGC-MMC Constitution.
